The gemological standards in this section refer only to individually registered engagement diamonds set in certain ring styles.

HOW IMPORTANT IS DIAMOND CLARITY?
- Diamond clarity is a qualitative metric that grades the visual appearance of each diamond. A diamond’s clarity grade will be better with fewer inclusions and flaws. The clarity of a diamond can have a significant impact on its price.
- Diamond clarity refers to the absence of these inclusions and blemishes. Every diamond is unique. None is perfect under 10× magnification, though some come close. Known as Flawless diamonds, these are exceptionally rare. Most jewellers have never even seen one.
- The clarity scale contains 11 grades, with most diamonds falling into the VS (very slightly included) or SI (slightly included) categories. In determining a clarity grade, the system considers the size, nature, position, color or relief, and quantity of clarity characteristics visible under 10× magnification.
HOW ARE CLARITY GRADES DETERMIND?
- Diamonds are clarity graded by looking at the top of the diamond. A clarity grade is given to each diamond based on the size, colour, nature and position of any inclusions under magnification.
- If you are trying to determine the best clarity for a diamond, remember that no diamond is perfectly pure. But the nearer it comes to purity, the better its clarity.
- Diamond inclusions are internal flaws. Luxsso rejects any diamond with noticeable imperfections to the unaided eye.
